Bull riders from around the world will meet in Arlington this weekend to crown a champion. The PBR World Finals moved from Las Vegas to Fort Worth in 2021 and then to Arlington last year.
The first rounds of the PBR World Finals are still held at Fort Worth's Cowtown Coliseum and started last weekend. The "Ride for Redemption" continued this week, and the championship rounds will be held at AT&T Stadium Saturday and Sunday.
"I'm going to give a shout-out to Fort Worth," says Arlington Mayor Jim Ross. "You don't see cities like Arlington and Fort Worth work together like we do. I am so proud of what they're doing over there with the PBR."
The first rounds of the PBR World Finals sold out at Cowtown Coliseum. Ross says the two cities have partnered to create an event that draws attention from around the world.
"It's an incredible event," he says. "It is Texas-made, and I am so excited to have the PBR back here."
"It's a truly amazing opportunity to be riding at such a unique stadium and the home of the Dallas Cowboys," says Bull Rider Brady Fielder. "It's really cool for me."
Fielder is from Australia and says people around the world know about the stadium. He says he can draw energy from a big crowd, but the bull draws energy from that excitement, too, so he needs to stay focused.
"I love it all, it's all part of it. I just take it as it comes, enjoy every moment, stay focused and take care of business," he says.
Dallas Cowboys Chief Operating Officer Stephen Jones says AT&T Stadium was built to be versatile to host different events throughout the year.
"You look at the PBR, that's exactly what we had in mind. We've had the NBA All-Star Game, we've had the NCAA championship game, the Final Four here," he says. "All those are the type of things where we decided to go the extra mile when we had a vision about AT&T Stadium."
Events at AT&T Stadium start Friday night with Kid Rock's Rock n Rodeo. Kid Rock will perform during the rodeo in which six teams will compete head-to-head in a bracket-style format.
"I wanted to not only introduce my fans who might not know about rodeo but fans coast to coast," Kid Rock said in an interview earlier this year.
The Women's Rodeo World Championship is Saturday at AT&T Stadium, and the championship rounds of the PBR World Finals are Saturday and Sunday. More information about all the events is available at https://pbrworldfinals.com/.
