The PBR World Finals, taking place now at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, will move to AT&T Stadium in Arlington in 2024. The event took place at AT&T Stadium during the pandemic in 2020, returned to Las Vegas in 2021 and moved to Fort Worth last year.
The first rounds of the PBR World Finals will still take place at Dickies Arena, and the Women's Rodeo World Championship will continue at Cowtown Coliseum in the Fort Worth Stockyards.
But the final rounds will move to AT&T Stadium.
"The 2024 PBR world champion will be crowned on the hallowed dirt inside AT&T Stadium," says PBR Chief Executive Sean Gleason. "We'll bring the world's toughest sport to the home of the Dallas Cowboys hopefully the same year they win the Super Bowl."
Gleason says the PBR has been holding events at AT&T Stadium since 2010. He says the stadium held the organization's biggest ever, drawing 46,000 fans.
"When we started that journey with the Jones and the building here, we all talked about the big dream, bringing a big, major championship to AT&T," he says.
While Cowboys Chief Operating Officer Stephen Jones was speaking, a bull started trying to escape a pen near the stage.
"We need him with a star on his helmet. He could do some damage there," he said.
Arlington Mayor Jim Ross says the city was not competing with Fort Worth to win the event's final rounds.
"In Tarrant County, we're better together. We are thrilled to have the championships right back here in Arlington under the best venue on the face of the Earth at AT&T Stadium," he says. "We love our neighbors to the west of us. We appreciate everything about what they do because the better Fort Worth does, the better Arlington does."
Visit Fort Worth says the cities and PBR had planned to ultimately move the final rounds to AT&T Stadium, saying the larger venue would be able to accommodate more visitors who would then fill hotels and restaurants across the area.
