With many people celebrating New Year's Eve from home this year, liquor stores across DFW are seeing quite a bit of foot traffic.
The cold weather isn't stopping people from lining up outside Raymond's Liquor Stop in Arlington, where a line started forming before the store even opened this morning.
"We probably had ten people waiting at 9:30 this morning, and we don't open until 10," one of the store's employees said. "And it's been a steady line since then."
It's a similar story across DFW, with liquor stores packed as people prepare to throw their own New Year's Eve parties in the safety of their homes. Andre Nguyen, owner of Tarrant Liquor in Fort Worth, says today's sales have been excellent for business.
"Our business is doing a lot better because a lot of people are staying at home this year," Nguyen said. "Our sales have increased by 50 percent compared to 2019."
