If your spring 2026 Bingo card had an entry for "Donald Trump teaches kids how to dance like him on the White House lawn," congratulations! You just won.

The official White House account shared a clip of Trump teaching the dance, and it quickly went viral.

The video was captioned with "SPOTTED: PRESIDENT TRUMP TEACHING THE TRUMP DANCE ON THE SOUTH LAWN." All in caps, natch, because of course it was.

Trump's dance moves are already familiar as they became a recognizable feature of his rallies, and even became something that NFL players did after making a touchdown.

The dance involves shaking side to side while twitching one's fingers toward the sky. And reaction to the impromptu dance was ... mostly negative, at least on X. But most observers would say the former Twitter has become a mostly negative space.

The students were visiting for events tied to National Physical Fitness and Sports Month, which was re-launched by the Administration as part of its effort to "Make America Healthy Again."

And the president seemed to be in on the dancing joke, instead of the butt of it because he had just joked that first lady Melania Trump hates it when he busts a move.

She hates it when I dance, too,” Trump told a crowd in Florida on May 1. As the Village People song "Y.M.C.A." played, he revealed, "“We love that song. But she (Melania) goes, ‘Darling, please don’t dance. It’s not presidential.’”

Some did use the opportunity of his dance display to point out another Trump impromptu move, one that didn't go as he expected. The president, an avowed golfer, miffed a putt on the White House lawn while trying to show kids how to golf.

The golfing was part of a demonstration of the new Presidential Fitness test, an effort that Donald Trump returned to America's lexicon. And while trying to show off for the kids gathered for the introduction of the test, he missed several putts in a row.

That doesn't change the fact that Trump has revived the Presidential Physical Fitness Test that was phased out by former resident Barack Obama. The test was launched in 1983 to promote physical activity, fitness and youth sports participation, according to the National Institutes of Health.

He said, stating, "We're bringing it back. My administration is working very hard to defend America's cherished athletic traditions and pass our values of excellence and competitiveness to the next generation.
