PGA Championship winner Phil Mickelson tees off in Fort Worth this morning, honoring his commitment to The Colonial just days after winning the PGA to become the oldest Major winner ever on the PGA Tour.

The Colonial tournament director Michael Tothe says they had already seen a nice increase in tickets sales when Lefty originally committed and they saw another bump Sunday when he re-confirmed during post PGA Championship interviews.

Mickelson has played The Colonial 16 times and has won twice; once in 2000 and again in 2008, with a runner-up finish in 2001.

After yesterday's Pro-Am, Mickelson said "I’m excited to play here because I've been playing well and I want to try to carry that momentum into a tournament that I've enjoyed many times and was fortunate to win a couple of times on a great golf course."

He tees off this morning at 9:16 a.m. in the same grouping with defending champ Daniel Berger and Dallas Jesuit's Jordan Spieth who won at Colonial in 2016.
