It's an astonishing survival story in Terrell where two men escaped serious injury even though their small plane crash-landed and ended upside down.
The small red and white Cessna aircraft was crumpled on its front end which apparently took the brunt of the impact when the aircraft landed, but then kept rolling right off the runway at the Terrell Municipal Airport on Tuesday afternoon.
Reports say when the airplane hit the grassy area adjacent to the runway, the front tire of the plane's tricycle landing gear apparently collapsed, sending the plane toppling back end over front and landing on its roof.
Emergency responders including fire trucks and ambulances immediately rolled to the scene.
The Cessna is a four-seater aircraft but only two people, the pilot and passenger, were aboard.
Reports say both individuals had some minor injuries and were treated at the scene, not needing to go to the hospital.
The FAA and NTSB will be investigating.
