The parents of Plano-born freelance journalist Austin Tice are keeping their hopes up even nearly ten years after he vanished in Syria during that country's brutal civil war.

For a decade, Marc and Debra Tice have been pursuing answers from three presidential administrations with next to nothing to show for it. But they remain optimistic.

Speaking on the CBS news podcast "The Take-Out With Major Garrett" the Tices say the are "100 percent certain" their son is still alive, although they've had no confirmation of that in these ten years.

They recently met with President Joe Biden in the Oval Office calling it a "very frank discussion."

They believe a prisoner exchange with Syria is their best hope, much like the recent exchange with Russia that freed another Texan, Trevor Reed of Granbury.
