The fake abduction led to an Amber Alert issued Monday morning. By that afternoon, the two girls who helped engineer the hoax had been found hiding out at a Dallas motel.

Seagoville police say the girls went to a flea market Sunday and ditched their adult chaperone. The mother of one girl got a call late Sunday night leading her to believe the girls had been abuducted and were in danger.

Police found motel security video showing the girls hanging out with two men, one of them turned out to Penaloza-Estrada.

The video showed no sign the girls were in danger.
