Plano West Senior High School campus will reopen Tuesday, August 29.
Classes were canceled Friday and Monday because of problems with the air conditioning system. On Sunday night, the district tweeted out a message saying classes were canceled for Monday, August 28 at PWSH.
Around 4 p.m. Monday, Plano ISD posted a message on their Facebook page to say the HVAC system is now functioning and classes will resume tomorrow.
"We look forward to welcoming back our students and staff at our regular arrival times," said information on social media.
The district says temperatures inside the high school should remain stable but this is a temporary fix that should hold for just a few days as other additional repairs are still ongoing. A permanent fix is expected on Friday, September 1 after early dismissal.
The school's Fall Open House, originally scheduled for Monday, has been postponed. The rest of the Plano schools are not affected. Plano ISD hopes all repairs to be completed by the return of the Labor Day holiday on Tuesday, September 5.
