A quiet plea agreement has finally ended the legal troubles for the mother of the so-called affluenza teen.

Tonya Couch, the mother of Ethan Couch, has admitted to trying to help her son stay out of jail by fleeing to Mexico. She was sentenced to 180 days in jail, given credit for time served, and is already out. Court reports say all other charges against Couch were dismissed.

11-years ago, Tonya's son Ethan Couch killed four people in an underage drunk driving accident that was blamed on his spoiled childhood. His lawyer coined the term 'affluenza' and laid the blame on Couch's wealthy parents.

Ethan was put on probation and then violated that. Rather than let her son go to jail, Tonya Couch fled the country for Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

She and Ethan were arrested and charged with money laundering and the case has been up and down the appeals courts since 2016.
