Police investigating overnight shootings in DFW

The victim has been identified in Sunday night's murder at a Dallas convenience store. Police now say it was an 18-year-old named Curdarrius Chapple who was fatally shot at the Time Saver Food Mart on Marsalis near Ann Arbor Avenue in South Oak Cliff.

Detectives learned another man walked into the store and opened fire on Chapple but police don't yet know why. A firearm was found at the scene but detectives are not saying if it belonged to Chapple or to the killer.


In Fort Worth, one man is in the hospital after being wounded in a drive-by this morning. Police were called just before 1 a.m. and were told three victims had been shot on Elizabeth Lane near South Cherry Lane and Camp Bowie.

Police and paramedics found one shooting victim with a leg wound near an apartment building and he was taken to the ER. The 911 caller mentioned three victims but police are not confirming that.

And in Dallas, Police are looking for the gunman who opened fire in southwest Dallas where a man was shot in the back early this morning. Just before 12:30 a.m. the victim was wounded on Belt Line Road near Mountain Creek Lake.

Paramedics found the man was conscious and able to converse as he was rushed to the hospital. Detectives don't why he was shot or who did it.
