Police in North Texas are investigating a case of 'swatting' directed at Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and his wife.
Reports say police and fire departments responded on New Year's Day to a false report of a life-threatening situation at the couple's home in McKinney.
Paxton and his wife, Texsa State Senator Angela Paxton weren't home at the time.
Swatting is a criminal harassment act of deceiving an emergency service into sending a police or emergency service response team to another person's address.
The Attorney General blamed the situation on Speaker of the Texas House Dade Phelan and various media outlets for 'doxxing' his family by publicly posting their home address.
Paxton says that regardless of anyone's beliefs, diverting emergency responders from real situations is unacceptable.
