Dallas police divers have recovered at least nine vehicles from Fish Trap Lake near Oak Cliff as part of an ongoing operation focused on both environmental cleanup and criminal investigations.

The discovery comes less than a year after a similar effort at nearby Lake Cliff, where officers pulled several submerged cars linked to old theft and dumping cases.

Police say each vehicle recovered from Fish Trap Lake will be processed to determine whether it’s tied to stolen property, missing person cases, or other crimes.

The operation is part of a broader push by the Dallas Police Department’s dive team to search area lakes and waterways for evidence and to remove debris that poses safety or environmental risks.

The recovery effort is expected to continue in the coming days as divers and investigators work to identify the vehicles and trace their origins.
