Police in Forney have transitioned from a 'search and rescue' to 'recovery mode' for the 22-year-old who disappeared after a car crash.
Waid Robison was traveling into Forney from Mesquite when he was involved in a crash early Sunday morning on Highway 80 near FM 460. His was the only vehicle involved.
There was moderate damage to his car, but Robison was nowhere to be found.
His phone was found near a creek southeast of the crash site.
Forney police say they are now joined by Forney Fire & Rescue as they continue their underwater search operation and transition into a 'recovery mode' of what they now believe will be the retrieval of the body of Waid Robinson.
"While we truly appreciate the community's eagerness to help, we ask that volunteers refrain from participating in search efforts at this time. This measure is to ensure the safety and effectiveness of professional teams involved," said the Forney Police Department via Facebook.
