The Dallas Cowboys have arrived in Oxnard, California, with the first practice of training camp scheduled for Thursday. However, there is also a lot of uncertainty hanging over the organization.
Number one is the future of quarterback Dak Prescott, who's in the final year of his deal and wants an extension. Cowboys' executive Stephen Jones said their plan is to re-sign Prescott.
"We are optimistic. I know Dak, our goal is to get it done," Jones said. "He knows that, we're having conversations with his agent, with Dak personally, both Jerry and myself and he knows our goal is to keep him here. He also understands the challenges."
Also looking for an extension is wide receiver CeeDee Lamb who is not in camp and said he doesn't intend to report until the team comes through. For that matter, head coach Mike McCarthy is in the final year of his deal and said he understands the outcome of this season will be make or break for him.
The Cowboys first practice is Thursday and Jerry Jones' annual camp opening press conference is Saturday.
