President Donald Trump is scheduled to campaign in San Antonio on Wednesday, with a rally at Freeman Coliseum for Attorney General Ken Paxton and congressional candidate Carlos De La Cruz.
The San Antonio Express-News reported the program is set for 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, on the city’s East Side. Doors open at 2:30 p.m., and the president is expected to speak at 6 p.m. Sign-up is through the Republican National Committee event page, with a limit of four tickets per registration. Paxton, who is running for U.S. Senate, and De La Cruz are listed as speakers.
Paxton posted Monday that he will join Trump “for a Rally to keep Texas red and keep America First,” listing the same venue, date and 2:30 p.m. door time. Freeman Coliseum is the East Side arena that hosts the city’s stock show and rodeo.

The Texas Tribune reported this is Trump’s third Texas trip in less than a month and his second campaign stop in the state in as many weeks. He spoke last Thursday at Peterbilt’s headquarters and manufacturing hub in Denton, where he promoted job creation and urged Republicans to turn out for Paxton. Paxton attended that event. Trump was the only elected official who spoke. The president also appeared at a midterm convention in Dallas last month.
The visits come in a cycle that has looked tighter than recent Texas elections. Trump carried the state by 14 points two years ago. Polling has consistently shown Democratic Senate nominee James Talarico with a narrow lead over Paxton. Republicans have held every statewide office for decades.
De La Cruz is running in the newly drawn 35th Congressional District. The Texas Legislature redrew the seat last year as part of a White House-ordered redistricting plan. Trump has lost Bexar County all three times he has been on the Texas ballot. His best result there was in 2024, when he won 44.5% of the vote.
