Agent Mark Sedwick is the FBI's go-to guy for putting cell phones in certain locations at certain times based on data. When Shavon Randle, 13, went missing Sedwick got a special court order to find the phones of the suspects, including Darius Fields.

Sedwick said there were 10 cell phones they could link to the kidnapping. When they could not find the girl before she was murdered, Sedwick said his job switched from finding a victim to helping convict a killer by using the data to track movements associated with the crime.

Prosecutors said Fields helped plan the kidnapping and murder of Randle because a distant relative of hers was dating someone who stole marijuana from him.
