The President of the Prosper school board is behind bars this morning after he was arrested in Dallas for allegedly abusing a child.
Prosper ISD school board President 43-year-old Andrew "Drew" Wilborn was arrested on a charge of sexual indecency with a child, according to jail records late Wednesday afternoon.
According to Dallas Police, officers learned in April 2022 of an incident involving a 16-year-old being inappropriately touched by Wilborn, who was an executive pastor at Antioch Church at the time, as reported by NBCDFW.
The district sent a letter home to parents saying to the best of their knowledge it did not involve any Prosper ISD students.
"As this is a criminal matter outside his role in the district and, to the best of our knowledge, this situation does not involve any Prosper ISD students, we are referring all questions to the Dallas Police Department," the statement read.
Wilborn moved to Prosper in 2017 and was elected to the school board in 2021.
This all comes as the district remains under fire for its handling of accusations that a school bus driver sexually assaulted two young girls and that they tried to cover up the scandal.
Wilborn is being held on a $50,000 bond.
Dallas Police are asking for anyone with information on the case or any other possible offense to contact Det. R. Jones at 214-671-4331 or email raungi.jones@dallaspolice.gov.
