As the Republican Midterm Convention opens in Dallas, questions linger if Dallas will be reimbursed for security costs.
Estimates show the City of Dallas will have to pay about $2-million for security.
City Councilwoman Cara Mendelsohn says there will be costs they will not recover but they must ensure everyone is protected.
"I hope we will be reimbursed," Mendelsohn said. "Especially because is essentially a fundraiser and the folks that lobbied to get this in Dallas, you know, not all of them live in Dallas."
The convention co-chair this week did say he did not think the City would be on the hook for any of it.
"We're paying a majority of all these expenses," said Convention Co-chair Ray Washburne. "We don't plan on the City having to pay anything and we'll have to do an accounting at the end to see."
