Texas Rangers slugger Adolis Garcia came up short in last night's Home Run Derby held ahead of tonight's All-Star game in Seattle.

In the first round, Garcia was matched up against his friend and fellow Cuban Randy Arozarena of the Tampa Bay Rays.

Batting first, Garcia started strong clubbing 17 homers in the first few minutes. But he seemingly ran out of steam and did not hit another in the final 30 seconds.

Arozarena knocked out 24 dingers in his allotted time to advance.

Arozarena made it to the final round after beating the Chicago White Sox' Luis Robert Junior in the semi's.

But the Toronto Blue Jays' Vlad Guerrero Junior won the trophy, hitting 25 homers in the final round, two better than Arozarena.
