A reports says the proposed layoffs at the Fort Worth ISD are due to declining enrollment, according the district.
Top Fort Worth school officials say they've decided to cut several administrative positions and laying off employees because of the drop.
The district's board of trustees made the unanimous decision to eliminate certain positions like assistant superintendents, executive directors and department chiefs, but did not give any specifics on who may be cut, or from where.
The district says they'll reallocate resources to have a greater impact on students and their families. Its expected that some positions will be eliminated while others will be merged or have changes in responsibilities.
