Person armed with knife killed, deputy injured after 'altercation' in Haltom City, sheriff's office says

A person armed with a knife is dead and a Tarrant County sheriff's deputy is injured after an "altercation" in Haltom City on Friday afternoon, officials say.

Just before 2 p.m. on Friday, deputies attempted to serve a warrant near the intersection of Twin Oaks Drive and Denise Drive in Haltom City, according to the Tarrant County Sherrif's Office.

The intersection is near U.S. Highway 377 and North Loop 820.

Officials said the person was armed with a knife and an altercation took place. The suspect was killed and a sheriff's deputy was transported to an area hospital, where he was expected to recover.
