Retired North Richland Hills Fire Battalion Chief Eddy Wood has died from cancer at the age of 46.
Wood was with the NRH Fire Department for 18 years. He was promoted to Battalion Chief in 2009.
Fire Chief Stan Tinney says "Chief Wood was the model firefighter with a get-it-done attitude and the skills to back it up."
The date of his funeral service has not been finalized but the location will be First Baptist Lakeside on Jacksboro Highway in Fort Worth.
The processional route has also not been decided on but the public will be given notice when it is.
