In Rockwall, a church volunteer has been arrested and charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child.
Police records show 44-year-old Natalie Sorrells is a realtor in Rockwall and serves as a volunteer youth worker at Lakepointe Church in Rockwall. She has been charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and two counts of indecency with child sexual contact in the city of Heath.
In a statement, the church says that no inappropriate activity occurred on church premises and the minor in question was not under her direct supervision.
The church says all of its volunteers have to undergo a security clearance, background checks, and training.
