A procession will leave Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano following this afternoon's funeral for Carrollton police office Steven Nothem who was killed last week when his squad car was struck by another driver.
The funeral begins at 1 p.m. Following the service, a procession will form up at the church and will include a large number of police cars and motorcycles from numerous police agencies.
Carrollton police have published the route, knowing many people want to pay their respects by standing vigil along the way.
They expect the procession to leave Prestonwood about 3:30 p.m. heading to the Dallas North Tollway. Going farther north into Collin County, the Tollway ends and becomes Dallas Parkway.
The procession continues up to Farm Road 428 and then heads east toward the cemetery in Celina. While all are welcome to observe the passing of the procession, the burial itself is private.
