BELTON (1080 KRLD)- It was quite the scene in one Central Texas town on Tuesday. A bison escaped from a veterinarian's office in Belton and went running through the city.
Animal control reached out to some cowboys to help rope the large animal.
The city of Belton posted a video on their official Facebook account to share the encounter with bison.
They included the following caption: "We’re incredibly grateful for the men who helped capture the bison today in Belton. That’s right, a bison was on the loose in Belton today! Nobody was hurt and the bison is doing well, but there were some tenuous moments when it was running free near I-35 and I-14."
It was repeatedly shot with tranquilizers and got really close to Interstate 35, but they managed to wrangle it and hog-tie it before it was put on a cattle trailer and reunited with its owner.
