The Sansom Park police officer wounded in a training accident on Saturday has now been removed from the Intensive Care Unit at JPS Hospital in Fort Worth.
Sansom Park Police Chief James Burchfield also says officer Lina Mino's condition has been upgraded to "stable." Even so, Burchfield says her wound is serious and she faces more surgery in the days and weeks to come.
Officials say Mino was wounded during training excersise on how to cope with a school shooter. The session was not supposed to include any live ammunition and it's still a mystery how a live round was introduced into the training scenario.
