Sasha Calle joined KRLD's What to Watch team to talk about her role as 'Supergirl' in the movie 'The Flash'.
So how did you feel when you found out that you were cast as Supergirl?
I felt all of it. But I would say the best way to describe it is that I just gave myself a hug for ultimately believing in myself and not allowing anyone to tell me, you know, that I couldn't do something. It was just, you know, I was working with four or five jobs. And on that time, well, actually, I was on a soap opera, so. No, but prior to the show, I was working like 4 to 5 jobs. And that's like it was my dream role. You know, it's it's like there's no way to nerd out, you know? It is. It's really special and really cool.
So how does it feel being the first Latina Supergirl?
It's an honor. It's it's an honor and a blessing. You know, I've had women of color pave the way for me, and I couldn't be here without them. And it's a very emotional journey. And I'm just so proud to be a little step forward in the right direction, because we do deserve to be in the big screens globally and around the world telling stories that are powerful and nuanced.
