Saturday begins a four-week long event in Downtown Dallas where portions of Main Street will be closed to vehicle traffic on Saturdays.
Downtown Dallas Inc got approval for "Open Streets: Main Street Social Saturdays."
Downtown Dallas Inc.'s Shalissa Perry says this will be going on every Saturday for about a month for the World Cup.
"It will be the four Saturdays while there are actually matches here in the area," Perry said. "Starting June 20th, June 27th, July 4th, and July 11th, those four Saturdays, from 9:00am to 3:00pm."
The entire portion of Main downtown won't be closed but the section between Akard and Harwood will be.
This is so fans for the World Cup can enjoy local vendors, chalk art as well as live music without dealing with vehicles.
"It's just going to be filled with activities, really fun family-friendly activities," Perry said. "Coffee trucks, food trucks, a lot of our businesses along Main Street will be coming out into the street."
There will also be markets where people can shop. There will also be goat yoga for those wanting to take part.
