For schoolchildren, Monday will be unlike any other day.

Anita Foster, executive director of marketing and communications for Arlington ISD, shared that schools use the upcoming eclipse as a teaching tool.

"Our science teachers for the last couple of weeks have integrated eclipse lessons into the curriculum and into the science classes," Foster said.

Other school districts also plan to use this once-in-a-lifetime spectacle for hands-on learning. Kenyail Carr, director of the math and science department at Fort Worth ISD, says thanks to the generosity of several companies, they will all be doing so in safety.

"We have over 80,000 pairs of glasses that were donated from various partners like the Perot Museum, Buc-ee's, Prevent Blindness, and a few others," Carr said.
