Highland Park's Scottie Scheffler is the betting favorite at the AT&T Byron Nelson tournament which tees off in McKinney today.
Scheffler is ranked #2 in the world and is one of only a few Texas favorites in the field this week because many of the PGA's top names are resting up ahead of next week's PGA Championship in New York.
Dallas favorite Jordan Spieth had been in the field but dropped out this week with a wrist injury, leaving Scheffler the clear favorite.
Other pros with North Texas ties like Bryson DeChambeu and Will Zalatoris are also absent. In fact, Zalatoris is out for the year recuperating from back surgery.
Scheffler tees off today at 12:44 pm in the same grouping with Australian Jason Day and back-to-back defending Nelson winner K.H. Lee.
This is the third year for the AT&T Byron Nelson will be played at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney. It looks like a wet weekend in McKinney. Especially Saturday and Sunday where it looks like there is a 60 to 70 percent chance of rain.
