The search for a new Dallas city manager is progressing, though not in the manner some City Council members had hoped.

A full city council meeting called for Monday morning to discuss candidates for the position was canceled after failing to meet a quorum. However, a regularly scheduled committee meeting proceeded in the afternoon, where several council members discussed the four finalists for the role.

Mayor Pro Tem Tennell Atkins said plans were in place to hold virtual meetings with the finalists next week. He expressed optimism that the full council will vote on the next city manager in January.
