Dallas police and DART authorities are investigating another deadly shooting on a DART train — the second in less than a week.
Officials say a passenger was shot and killed Sunday night on a train at the Pearl/Arts District Station in downtown Dallas. The shooting happened around 7 p.m., prompting a large police response and a temporary disruption in rail service through the Central Business District.
DART confirmed that a suspect was taken into custody shortly after the shooting. The agency has not released the names of the victim or the suspect, and the motive remains under investigation.
Last Monday, another DART passenger was shot and killed near Market Center Station in Dallas. A suspect was arrested in that case as well.
The back-to-back incidents have raised safety concerns among riders who depend on the system for daily commutes. DART says additional officers are being deployed across its network as investigators continue to review surveillance footage and witness statements.
