Another man is going to prison for taking part in the murder of Andre Emmett whose basketball skills took him from Dallas Carter High School to Texas Tech, and from there to the NBA.
In 2019, three men were accused of following Emmett to his Dallas home and killing him during an attempted robbery.
One of men the accused, later identified as Keith Johnson, was charged with capital murder and was scheduled to stand trial next month. But on Monday, he accepted a deal to plead guilty to a charge of aggravated robbery in exchange for 20 years in prison.
The actual shooter, Larry Daquan Jenkins, was convicted of capital murder and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
The trial for the third man involved has not yet been scheduled.
