A section of westbound Interstate 30 in Arlington will be closed this weekend while crews repair bridge beams damaged earlier this year, officials said.
The Texas Department of Transportation said the closure on westbound I-30 between Fielder Road and Eastchase Parkway will run from 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, through 6 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22, as work continues on the Randol Mill Road bridge. The beams were struck by a tractor-trailer in June.
With fans traveling from Dallas to Fort Worth for the SMU vs TCU game, as well as the Texas Rangers playing at home, and with Fright Fest events going on at Six Flags, traffic could be heavy.
Westbound traffic will be detoured north on State Highway 360, west on State Highway 183 and south on Interstate 820 before reconnecting with I-30.
