The word of the day for lawmakers and federal workers is the word 'frustrating.'

This after another attempt to reopen the government Wednesday failed in the United States Senate.

Congressman Keith Self says even if they get the government back open soon, they will be right back where they are now in just a few weeks.

"That too is frustrating because we've only taking this out to November 21st," Congressman Self said referring to the republican version of the continuing resolution to open the government. "We'll be doing this again on November 21st."

More air-traffic controllers and TSA agents are calling is sick. They are essential workers who must continue doing their job even though they are not being paid.

"We need to get the air-traffic controllers back on the job so they don't call in sick," Congressman Self said. "We want them in the towers protecting the American people, protecting the airplanes in the air."

Democrats are trying to extend Obamacare subsidies that would otherwise force skyrocketing premiums if they expire at the end of the year.

Republicans are willing to discuss the matter but not as part of the government reopening.
