A lot of Wednesday's North Texas home and apartment fires have been blamed on storms and lightning strikes.
One of the big fires was in Fort Worth where a two-story apartment building caught fire on Granbury Road near Altamesa.
The fire had quite a head start when firefighters pulled up to find flames bursting from the roof. It was bad enough that commanders called a second alarm to bring in more manpower.
About 20 people were displaced and the Red Cross came in to help them but no one was hurt.
Lightning strikes are also the likely cause of a number of other fires including a burning home in Southlake, a motel in Irving and a pick-up in Waxahachie.
