A powerful line of severe thunderstorms swept across North Texas on Sunday night, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. The storms brought damaging winds, large hail, and heavy rainfall, resulting in significant property damage, power outages, and disruptions to daily life.

In Denton County, a flash flood warning was issued until 12:30 a.m., as heavy rains inundated the area, leading to hazardous driving conditions and localized flooding.


Palo Pinto County reported storm damage, with early assessments indicating structural damage to buildings and downed power lines.

In Gordon, Texas, the local school district canceled classes for Monday due to storm-related damages and safety concerns.

The severe weather is part of a larger system that has affected multiple states, with at least 28 fatalities reported across the Heartland and the East Coast.

The National Weather Service has indicated that the threat of severe storms continues into Monday, with the Dallas-Fort Worth area at risk for additional severe weather, including the potential for large hail, damaging winds, and isolated tornadoes.
