Two arrested in connection with triple murder at Fort Worth used car dealership

FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - Two men are charged with capital murder in connection with a triple murder at a southwest Fort Worth used car dealership.

Earlier, police arrested Lamont Cousins, 44.

Now, they've also arrested Andrew Vandermeer, 32.

Both are charged with capital murder and are in the Fort Worth city jail on $1 million bond.

According to the arrest affidavit, investigators say Cousins and Vandermeer tied up Clay Turrentine, 55, who owned Bill's Auto Sales on Benbrook Highway' as well as an employee, Veronica Jones, 46.

They then allegedly drove the two to an abandoned building in Palo Pinto County and shot them dead.

Earlier, another employee, Virginia Lewis, 65, was shot to death inside the business.

According to the affidavit, this all stemmed from a dispute over a transaction at the business.

It says Cousins sold Turrentine a red Dodge for $10,000, and Turrentine subsequenetly sold it to another customer for $5,000.

The Dodge had a lien on it and was repossessed, and Turrentine refunded the customer's $5,000, possibly leading up to the altercation between Turrentine and Cousins.
