In Dallas, SMU Police have issued a warning to the community after receiving alarming reports about fraudulent individuals impersonating SMU Police officers.

The impostors have been making calls from the number 214-768-3388, falsely claiming to be working on a Homeland Security case and requesting money from unsuspecting victims.

The deceptive callers have employed sophisticated spoofing techniques to make their calls appear as if they are originating from SMU Police.

In an official statement, SMU Police emphasized that they never initiate calls to individuals asking for money. The department urges the community to be vigilant and cautious.

If anyone receives a suspicious call, or has additional information regarding these incidents, they are strongly encouraged to contact SMU Police immediately at 214-768-3333.
