North Texas soccer fans are growing more excited after hearing reports that the 2026 World Cup final will be played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
Based on reports from several British publications, International soccer's governing body FIFA is ready to announce that AT&T Stadium in Arlington has been chosen over MetLife Stadium in New York.
According to one paper, The Sun, FIFA will soon confirm the choice saying FIFA is also set to base itself in Texas for the tournament in 2026...and the North Texas soccer world can hardly wait.
In Arlington, Soccer City manager Ali Danaifard tells NBC-5 they are certainly hopeful the World Cup will attract huge crowds to Arlington.
The next World Cup is going to be expanded from 32 teams to 48 for the first time, with a total of 104 games to be played across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
FIFA is confirming nothing at this time except to say "Tune in on February 4th" at 2 pm Texas time for the 2025 Match Schedule Announcement.
