Society of St. Vincent de Paul North Texas expands Lancaster campus

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul North Texas is expanding its operations in Lancaster following a land donation from the Credit Union of Texas.

The donated property, a former drive-through bank branch situated directly across the street from the existing St. Vincent Center, includes a lot and building infrastructure that will support local community assistance initiatives.

Luis Gonzalez, President and CEO of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul North Texas, outlined how the organization plans to utilize the newly acquired property:

  • Improved Parking and Access: The lot will provide dedicated parking for visitors attending monthly community events, removing the need for patrons to park on surrounding streets.
  • Support for Senior Nutrition Programs: The expanded space will accommodate drive-through distributions for the "People in Need" (PAND) program, a monthly joint initiative with the North Texas Food Bank that delivers groceries to area seniors.
  • Clinic Operations: The area will offer dedicated parking for patients visiting the on-site St. Paul Medical Clinic.
  • Future Campus Planning: While initial plans focus on storage, parking, and event management, leadership will evaluate long-term options for further developing the full property footprint.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul North Texas relies on a network of nearly 1,000 volunteers across the Dallas and Fort Worth areas. Through home visits, volunteer members meet directly with local residents requesting financial help with rent or utilities to evaluate needs and offer direct support.
