Just in time for Spring Break, some employees in the Fort Worth ISD face a mountain of uncertainty.
A number of employees in Fort Worth ISD's central administration were told by Superintendent Dr. Angelica Ramsey that they will need to resign from the district as part of a reorganization.
The district says it's needed to address a decrease in student enrollment and to reallocate resources to more positively impact student learning.
Officials say some positions will be eliminated, while others will be merged or will undergo changes in responsibility. Employees who were told they would need to resign, the number of which is unclear, were given three options at last Friday's meeting; to apply for a new position, not to apply for a new position or to apply for retirement benefits.
The district says as usual, there will be hundreds of classroom vacancies, so those with teaching certificates will have the opportunity to return to the classroom.
