A few North Texas school districts are closed today because too many students and staff are sick.
The Garner ISD in Parker County closed yesterday (Wednesday) after it reached a threshold of both sick students and staff. District officials say they will stay closed through Monday, Jan. 29.
Also, the Rio Vista ISD in Johnson County will be closed today and Friday due to widespread sickness. They are having all students come back by Monday as well.
Officials at both districts say they will sanitize the facilities while everyone is away.
Children's Health said that flu cases at its hospitals rose by 40% during the week of January 14.
