Dallas-based Southwest Airlines is finally back in the black.
Southwest is reporting a $68 million profit for the fourth quarter, the airline's first profit without federal pandemic aid since late 2019.

CEO Gary Kelly says the Omicron variant didn't affect the airline until January.
"We had a really good December, we had a good Thanksgiving, we had a rough October but we were able to overcome that," Kelly said.
He says business travel continues to recover and expects it to be around 90% of pre-pandemic levels by the end of the year. But Kelly expects their growth to continue, with 114 planes set to be delivered from Boeing this year.
Kelly is stepping down as CEO on February 1st and says one of the accomplishments he's most proud of.
