Southwest Airlines pilot David Allsop was arrested for DUI at Savannah Hilton Head Airport in Georgia on Wednesday morning.
The 52-year-old pilot from New Hampshire was set to fly a Chicago-bound flight but was taken into custody just before departure. The incident caused a delay of nearly five hours as the airline scrambled to find a replacement pilot.
Allsop has been removed from duty, and passengers were accommodated on other flights. Southwest Airlines emphasized that safety is their top priority and apologized for the disruption.
According to jail records, Allsop's bond was set at $3,500.
