The State Fair of Texas is lowering admission and parking prices for 2026 after fairgoers complained about costs last year, the nonprofit announced Monday.
Adult daily tickets will drop $2. Children ages 3 through 12 will pay $10 every day, a cut of as much as $12 on weekends compared with 2025, according to the fair’s official announcement. Children 2 and under remain free. Official parking will be $25, $5 less than last year.
Weekday adult tickets at the gate will be $15 Monday through Thursday and $25 Friday through Sunday. After 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, everyone can get in for $10. Advance tickets go on sale Sept. 1 at BigTex.com. The fair runs Sept. 25 through Oct. 18 at Fair Park in Dallas.

Karissa Condoianis, the fair’s senior vice president of public relations, said organizers take last year’s feedback seriously. NBC 5 reported attendance fell by about 385,000 visitors in 2025. Fair President Mitchell Glieber said providing greater value does not mean compromising the experience.
The fair will still offer promotions such as Opening Day peanut-butter donations, Feed the Need Wednesdays, senior Thursdays and discounts for military, first responders and McDonald’s coupon holders.
