The State Fair of Texas is heading into its final weekend, drawing thousands of visitors to Fair Park for one last round of rides, concerts, and fried food.
The fair, which opened September 26, closes Sunday night after a three-week run that featured new foods, updated attractions, and record attendance on several days.
Fair Park officials say Saturday is expected to be one of the busiest days of the season, with the fair overlapping with a Dallas Trinity FC home match at the Cotton Bowl.
Visitors are encouraged to plan ahead for heavy traffic, limited parking, and extended DART service.
The State Fair of Texas is one of the largest and longest-running fairs in the nation, contributing hundreds of millions of dollars annually to the North Texas economy. Organizers say planning for next year’s fair begins almost immediately after the gates close Sunday.
