The University of North Texas in Denton on Tuesday joined the growing list of colleges and universities around the country with pro-Palestinian protests on campus.
Protestors asked UNT to cut ties with Israeli assets and with weapons manufacturers, like Lockheed Martin and Raytheon.
"We stand here today in solidarity with students Columbia, students at Yale, students at UT-Dallas, students at UT-Austin, students at college campuses all across the nation, and really in the world," organizer Talia Irsh told KRLD's media partners at NBC DFW.
"The university recognizes and supports the right of free speech and protects the right of freedom of speech, petition, and peaceful assembly," UNT Director of Media Relations Devynn Case said in a written statement.
