A Dallas surgery center operated by Baylor Scott & White says it appears an IV bag may have been compromised. Because of that, Surgicare North Texas paused operations Friday and contacted law enforcement to investigate.
There were no details immediately available from the hospital about how the bag may have been compromised.
The hospital set up a dedicated phone number, 214-818-2794, for patients with questions about the incident.
Dallas police confirmed the department was involved in the investigation.
Baylor Scott & White released the following statement Friday.
"Surgicare North Dallas contacted law enforcement after discovering that an IV bag appeared to have been compromised. On the same day, the facility elected to pause its operations, and we remain focused on assisting investigators. We are also contacting recent patients of the surgery center who may have questions, and we have created a dedicated phone line at 214-818-2794. There is nothing more important than the safety and well-being of our patients."
